How to check if an article is unique (not Copyscape)?

Is there any tool similar to Copyscape that would allow you to check whether an article is unique or not - not by typing a URL, but instead copy/pasting the article text?

Copyscape's free version has a limitation of 10 queries per month on a certain domain. They offer premium accounts where there are no limitations and you can also copy and paste to search for copies of offline content, but I'd like to know if there exists a free tool that does this.

    Thanks!

I've heard rumors that the copy/paste checkers steal content. So be careful when you use those.

You can also copy and paste random phrases from the text in a search engine.

It doesn't matter what you use. They will change the article up a little bit, and you will never know.

And if they do copy it, so what? There are, untold millions of users out there, and I have found that the ones who do copy don't market their site very well, so...

And how many times does this question have to be asked?

I built one that does not steal content. You can see and use it here: http://www.reprintwriters.com/copyright-checker/check.php

I cannot imagine why any of these applications would steal your content, but mine does not just the same.

Copy and paste the article into the box. The software will pull three phrases out of the body of the article, and run all three unique phrases against Yahoo search results to see if there are any similar articles out there. Future upgrades will also include a search against Google and MSN.

    p.s. This tool is free.

Based on my reading, people stealing content via online forms work around Javascript implemented within a PHP or ASP script that writes any input either in flat text files or directly into a MySQL database.

Glad to hear yours is not setup maliciously :)

Any Javascript, PHP or ASP file could lift the info and place it into a flat file or mysql database.

Mine is a PHP file, and it does pull the info up, so that the info could be processed. But once processing is done, the form data is discarded.

I am in the business of creating original content for my customers... I don't need to steal anyone's content to fill content orders for my customers. In fact, that is why the tool was built, to let people confirm that the content my people created for them was in fact unique content, as advertised.

I have at least 10 websites with scripts writing on flat text files, though these scripts are guestbooks or shoutboxes, it makes sense that any content can be written on a text file if you are an advanced programmer.

I never said you are stealing content or doubt in your word, I just wanted to let you know it is possible what Latoya said, in fact she pointed at this when I posted about one of my sites, www.trustedwriter.official.ws.

You may see a few cut and paste boxes to check grammar or count words and I'm not stealing content either as this service is managed directly by Google.

Question asked and answered repeatedly around here. In the future, use the search function. Thread closed.
